LIVING SOFTWARES

We build software that stays alive — useful, fast, and tended like organisms, not like building sites.

Privacy

This English version is provided for convenience; the French version prevails.

This page states plainly what the livingsoftwares.com website does with your data.

In short

  • No cookies, no audience measurement, no advertising, no accounts, no forms.
  • If you talk to the agent, Living Softwares neither records nor keeps your voice or the conversation.
  • The server keeps a technical log of requests for 90 days at most, for the security of the site.

Who is responsible

LIVING SOFTWARES, a simplified joint-stock company, îlot 893-894, parcelle « r' », quartier Minonkpo Wologuèdè, 8ᵉ arrondissement, Cotonou, République du Bénin. For any question about your data: legal-contact@livingsoftwares.com.

When you visit the site

Like any web server, ours records each request in a log: IP address, date and time, requested address and type of request (for example “GET /equipe”), response code, size and duration of the response. This log is used for the security and proper functioning of the site: spotting an attack, understanding an outage. It is kept for 90 days at most, then erased. It is neither sold nor cross-referenced with other data.

To prevent abuse, the server also counts, in memory only, the voice requests from each IP address over ten minutes; this count is never written down and disappears when the server restarts.

The site sets no cookies. Your browser keeps, for the open tab, a note that the entry sequence has already played; it is erased when you close the tab. It also keeps a copy of the site's files (fonts, images, code) so that the next visit is immediate; this copy contains nothing about you and is erased with the site's data in your browser.

When you talk to the agent

The agent only listens to you if you ask it to: a click on “Talk to it”, then your consent, in the browser, for the microphone.

  • Your voice. Speech recognition is performed by your browser. Depending on the browser, the sound may be sent to its vendor's service (Google for Chrome, Microsoft for Edge, Apple for Safari), under that vendor's terms. Living Softwares does not receive the sound, does not record it and does not keep it.
  • The agent's voice. The agent's answers are read aloud by Azure Speech, Microsoft's speech synthesis service, in its France Central region: your browser connects directly to this service, which receives your IP address and the text the agent speaks.
  • The conversation. Living Softwares keeps no conversations.

When you write to us

Emails sent to an @livingsoftwares.com address go through our email service, Zoho Mail. Your address and your message are used to reply to you; we keep them for no more than 36 months after our last exchange.

Some of this processing therefore takes place outside Benin.

Why we process this data

  • The server log and the count of voice requests: the security and proper functioning of the site.
  • The conversation with the agent: your choice to talk to it, which you can stop at any time.
  • Your emails: replying to you.

Your rights

You may ask to access the data concerning you, to have it corrected or erased, and to object to its processing, by writing to legal-contact@livingsoftwares.com. For the server log, give the date, the approximate time and the IP address of your visit: it is the only way to find your entries in it.

You may also refer the matter to Benin's Personal Data Protection Authority (APDP): apdp.bj.

These rules derive from Law No. 2017-20 of 20 April 2018 on the Digital Code of the Republic of Benin, as amended by Law No. 2020-35 of 6 January 2021.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS only. The server is kept up to date and closed to all access other than the web and key-based administration. The voice service key stays on the server: it is never sent to your browser.

Changes

If the site starts processing other data — a form, audience measurement — this page will say so first.
